About Us
Welcome to DR EcoAdventures! We are a 700 acre ecoFarm with a 2 km private beach. Our unique property is bounded to the north by the ocean, to the south by farm land and Caribbean forest, to the east by the winding Rio San Juan River, and to the west by the pristine Picadosa Lagoon. Our amazing location and surrounding natural wonders allow for fun-filled adventures that you will never forget!
We offer many excursions, including: Horseback Riding, Donkey Riding, Bicycling, Kayaking, Standup Paddle Boards, and Nature Walks. We also offer training excursions in Dominican Row Boats and Dominican Crabbing & Fishing, which are taught and executed in the authentic Dominican tradition. You can also participate in our organized group activities, such as a “Day at the Beach” or “Dominican Lunch”. It is customary for our staff to offer sunset cocktails and dinner, and we have full-service packages for any special event, wedding or conference.
HISTORY
Our farm has a rich 200 year history and currently has livestock and plantations. The flora & fauna specific to our ecoFarm have been studied by an internationally recognized team of environmental experts, and can be seen in publications such as Ornithologist, Agronomist and Ecologist. Our main focus is on safety, sustainability and service:
1. Safety
Our guides carry first aid kits with epiPens and can radio for either CPR assistance or Boat Rescue. Helmets are mandatory for activities like horse rides and bicycling. Life Vests are mandatory for activities like Kayaking and Standup Paddle Boarding. We cater to families with children, and we have life vests for infants and small children separate from adult life vests. We check all of our equipment every day. Every activity participant needs to fill out a check-in form so that we can understand any health conditions and allergies in advance.

2. Sustainability
We are completely off the grid with solar power, well water and septic disposal. We have no motor activities as part of our excursions (i.e. all activities are completely powered by humans, horses, etc.) Our chef is renowned for “natural cooking”: organic cooking with natural herbs. We aim to serve healthy lunches and food, and we do not deep fry in oil, etc. We have been growing Teak trees on the property for the past decade, which take 25 years to mature, and you can see the various stages of their growth. We have many fruit trees on the property as well, and we are also growing vegetables and spices in our ecoFarm.

3. Service
Each excursion is led by a trained DR EcoAdventures Guide. We are consistently told by our customers that our staff is friendly and knowledgeable. All our guides have been trained and certified in our unique service program. Our staff is 100% Dominican and knows the ecoFarm well since they are from the area. We support local schools in the region, with an emphasis on education. We request that our customers fill out our Feedback Form after completing an activity so that we can constantly improve, and we look forward to implementing any recommendations that you provide.
We strive to keep our facilities completely functional and clean. Our beach pavilion has full bathrooms and hot water shower facilities for your use. We also have outdoor showers and faucets to wash sand and dirt off before you enter the beach pavilion. Our bar is stocked with Presidente Beer, Pina Colada, Rum Punch, Water, Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite, and snacks available for sale. Our Gift shop has Ponchos, Long sleeves shirts, and Hats for sale. We offer complimentary insect repellent, sun block, hats with face nets and boots for our guests. We also have complimentary ponchos to use in case of rain. We have free broadband Wi-Fi coverage at our beach pavilion.
